Afrojack Makes Black Book Records Debut with 'Control'
DVBBS, a Canadian duo consisting of brothers Alex and Christopher van de Hoef, first emerged onto the scene in 2012. In the years since then, they’ve played stages from EDC to Ultra Music Festival. Just last month they released a six-track EP, Beautiful Disaster. It’s a diverse EP that shows how much they’ve grown and developed their sound over time.
They recently hit up AOL‘s Build HQ to talk about their latest EP, their next EP, never cutting their hair and much more!
DVBBS Discuss Their EP, “Beautiful Disaster”
When asked about their inspiration on the latest EP they said, “This whole world exists in this sacred balance of ups and downs, positives and negatives, all coming together; a beautiful disaster.” It’s a rather poetic sentiment from an otherwise high-energy, rowdy duo. Despite having released an EP last month they have a new album on its way in March. We can expect to see collaborations with 2 Chainz, Belly, and NERVO as well as 10 other tracks!
The duo hasn’t just been working on music however, they’re working on developing their brand, an imprint, and even a festival! KANARY is the groups independent label that they released Beautiful Disaster on. They had 10,000 attendees at their first festival, Mt. Woozy, inspired by their fans, the ‘woozy gang’. These boys are only getting bigger and better, and we can’t wait to see what they do in 2017.
