YetepEverything Oliver Heldens does makes us want to dance. The 22-year-old Dutch producer has been making hits since 17. His signature animal-themed tracks, like “Koala” and “Gecko” that hit #1 on the charts catapulted his career. His groovy basslines and distinct sound have set him apart as an artist and earned him a large and loyal following. Just years into his career he started his own label, Heldeep Records and introduced a new persona, HI-LO. Between the two aliases Heldens put out a ton of music this past year, most recently “I Don’t Wanna Go Home” earlier this month. He’s about to head out on a 12-city bus tour, but he made some time to get in The Lab before he left.
This is a particularly fun Mixmag session with a lot of remixes and mashups. Just a few of those being Heldens’ “Gecko” vs. “La La La” by Naughty Boy & Sam Smith, “Flamingo” vs. Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”, Chocolate Puma and Tommie Sunshine’s “Take The Ride vs Macklemore’s “Can’t Hold Us Down” and a dope mashup of his track “I Don’t Want To Go Home” and “Heathens” by Twenty One Pilots. The hour long mix is full of club-worthy beats that could keep you going all night.
Oliver Heldens is bringing his unique tunes to the Phoenix Lights stage on Sunday, April 9th. Get tickets here.
