Audien is known for his melodic progressive trance sound, and is trying out some new sounds in his new single with vocalist MAX. Believe it or not, Audien began creating happy hardcore in 2008 on Only Vibes Recordings, a digital label he co-founded with producer Naggy. He then switched to trance in 2009 where he’s found massive success ever since, and now he’s taking a dip in the future bass pool.
MAX, is a New York City-born, Woodstock-raised pop/soul singer, actor, and dancer in the vein of artists like Bruno Mars, Cody Simpson, and One Direction. He landed his first agent at 14 and spent his late teens writing music for Disney shows and starring in the Nickelodeon television series How to Rock. MAX issued his debut EP, First Encounters, in 2010, followed by an appearance on rapper Hoodie Allen’s 2014 debut album People Keep Talking. In 2015, MAX issued an EP called Wrong.
Together, Audien and MAX have created something one of a kind, and I’v never heard anything quite like it. ‘One More Weekend’ starts off with a light melodic tune as MAX sings an intriguing hook. The drop completely took me off guard with elements of future bass, jazz and tropical house.
These styles are a first for Audien, but they sound amazing and I think its safe to say he should continue to venture out of his comfort zone when it comes to genres. Audien will be joining Diplo, Yookie and Kill Frenzy to name a few at this years Wet Electric, and I can picture the wave pool going crazy to ‘One More weekend’ already.
