DJ to Watch: Louisahhh

THU, APR 20, 2017

DJ Mag has called her ‘techno’s next superstar’ and we couldn’t agree more. Louisa Pillot, who goes by the embellished stage name of Louisahhh, is a Paris-based rising talent in the underground techno realm. She started singing and playing instruments at an early age eventually falling in love with DJing. A chance run-in with French techno wunderkind, Brodinski, catapulted Lousiahhh’s techno career. The pair collaborated on  “Let the Beat Control Your Body” and “Nobody Rules the Streets” for Brodinski’s young label, Bromance Records, became dance music anthems in the realm of deep house and techno. This set Lousiahhh up to release her own productions into the world. She released her first solo EP Transcend in 2013 followed by two EP’s with French producer Maelstrom in 2014 and 2015.

Her deep, driving style has been able to find a niche within Paris’ electronic scene. She’s co-founder of the Record Label RAAR, a creative imprint that’s about much more than music. Louisahhh isn’t just a great DJ and label owner, she’s a kick-ass singer, too! She often uses her own vocals and sings live during her sets. Her icy, hypnotic vocals saturate everything she makes. They also make her music instantly recognizable. Louisahhh’s sound is a mix between punk and techno putting setting her apart from her peers and allowing her to take over a niche techno market in Paris.
