Spin it Back Saturday: Showtek – ‘FTS’

It’s been 10 long years since Showtek graced us with this hardstyle party anthem, “FTS.” The brother DJ duo, consisting of Sjoerd and Wouter Janssen, have been producing since 2001, building an empire and collecting fans all over the world. “FTS” came from their debut album Today Is Tomorrow, released in 2007. They’ve since strayed from their hardstyle background opting for a more mainstream sound, but we’ll never forget what first made us fall in love with this Dutch duo. Occasionally Showtek features some of their throwback hardstyle material into their sets and the fans still go crazy for it!

For the old school ravers, this song needs no introduction. It’s been a staple within the scene and an ode to the lifestyle, criticizing the mundaneness of a 9-5 and celebrating being as far away from society as possible.

From techno to Dubstep to radio worthy beats, Showtek can do it all, but that classic hardstyle Showtek will always hold a place in my heart. In the words of Showtek, “I live for the weekend, I live for hard styles, I live for hardstyle baby!”
