3LAU Drops ‘Ultraviolet’ LP with a Cause

Las Vegas-based DJ and producer 3LAU has kept us waiting for the release of his much-anticipated 11-track LP, Ultraviolet, and it was worth the wait. The LP features track after track of sweeping synths, ambient soundscapes, and dreamy vocals. Played from start to finish, each track flows perfectly into the next, evoking feelings of content and a desire to self-reflect. It seems this was 3LAU’s aim, as he tweeted with the release that it was “made it for us, for when we’re lost, and when we don’t care to be found.”

Each track on the LP shines brightly on its own, while they all blend beautifully together as a whole. The lead single, “On My Own,” featuring Nevve on vocals, is both peaceful and upbeat, resulting in an all-around feel-good dance tune. An oldie but a goodie, “Fire,” with Said The Sky and NÉONHÈART, will tug at your heartstrings with it’s soft, piano melodies and soothing vocals. Don’t let this fool you though – the LP also comes with moments of pure electronic goodness, with “Arcana,” “Winter,” and “Star Crossed.” Check out the full album below.

The best part about the Ultraviolet release is that it’s contributing to a cause. The LP was released on 3LAU’s not-for-profit label, BLUME, and for every dollar earned from streaming the album, 3LAU will make a donation to F-Cancer, an organization that focuses on spreading cancer awareness through education on detection and prevention. If this isn’t enough of a reason to check out Ultraviolet, I don’t know what is.
