YetepIf absence makes the heart grow fonder, then Jon Hopkins, we are very, very fond of you. It’s been five long years since the London-based producer released his last full-length album, but he certainly hasn’t been resting on his laurels. This master of ambient dance music has started making his way around the European festival circuit. And with a recent announcement on Hopkin’s social media accounts, it sounds like he’ll be gracing the stage with some fresh beats.
I'm so happy to share some brand new music with you. There is much more news to come soon, but this is where it begins.https://t.co/gf5NbmuJYM pic.twitter.com/5V6CRQhOCg

“I’m so happy to share some brand new music with you,” reads his post. “There is much more news to come soon, but this is where it begins.” The message is accompanied by a short trailer which begins with a nervous waver and transitions into a lush, ambient beat that’s cut with flickers of soft, ethereal light. Oh, and it’s all set to some beautiful visuals directed by Stephen McNally.
Could this mean a new Jon Hopkins album is around the corner? Check out the video and determine for yourself. (To get the full experience, make sure to watch it in HD with a quality set of headphones as directed by the man himself.) If this is any indication of the type of music he has in store for us, then it was well worth the wait.
