Relentless Beats

Berel and Producer Aabo Bring a New Vision to Xavier Omar’s ‘Blind Man’

San Francisco based singer-songwriter Berel is proving imminent as a rising artist. Avidly evolving his sound, the crooner has spent countless hours in the studio polishing his skills as a singer and producer with a knack for transforming songs into resonating soulful ballads. The self-proclaimed “modern renaissance man” possesses a gift for songwriting and musically, he draws inspiration from The Beatles, Motown, and early Hip-Hop. Berel’s recently revealed talents have already proven worthy of critical praise with media tastemakers praising the artist on his stripped-down R&B cover to JMSN’s “Cruel Intentions,” remastered with LA/SF producer Aabo.

In tandem with their past release “Cruel Intentions,” Berel and Aabo have again teamed up on another strip-down cover, and have seamlessly weave nostalgic tones of electronica, neo-soul, and hip-hop influences on a new cover of Xavier Omar‘s powerful track,”Blind Man.”

The tune’s original transmission elegantly anti-objectifies women and beauty standards, as the protagonist protests that beauty isn’t seen through the eyes, rather induced emotionally. Berel’s expressive vocals effortlessly weave cohesively with Aabo’s rich organic instrumentation, offering the original track a resonating sentiment and live band feel.
