REZZ Casts a Spell with ‘Witching Hour’

REZZ has been pretty busy this year. When she’s not headlining major festivals, like the Sahara tent at Coachella and claiming souls at EDC, she’s conjuring up new music, which you may have been lucky enough to hear her play out during recent sets. For those who haven’t seen a recent set, her new single will be a spooky surprise. For me, having seen her three times in the last six months, I feel like saying ‘finally!’ “Witching Hour” is a track I have been obsessed with since I first heard it at Goldrush 2017, and I’ve been dying for its release since. Now, the hour is here!

“Witching Hour” is dropped ahead of her new album Certain Kind of Magic, which releases August 3rd. Isabelle Rezazadeh, like the sweet space mom she is, released the track a week early, with the original release date being June 8th. It’s a song true to the REZZ style: deep space bass, alien-like sounds, and a hypnotic essence. There’s something about this track that feels like a story is being told… nearly an audial manifestation of what the witching hour is. It’s mystical and a little haunting, but comforting at the same time – like giving yourself willingly to soul abduction. I only hope that we’ll get another single before her album!
