With a Biggie like flare and a heart of gold, he puts out music that keeps it old school in the new world of rap. Differing from his fellow rap producers, Gates maintains a level of boyish innocence while still feeding that inner gangster. Following him through what looks to be the “hood”, Gates is soulfully singing his raw lyrics. The underlying tone of this one is released. He’s singing on honest truths in a setting that take it back to basics and serves as a clean backdrop for the song.
