YetepHeadbangers rejoice! Canadian producer Jeff Abel—a.k.a. Excision—has finally released his fourth studio album, the highly-anticipated, Apex. The 14-track LP is stacked with impressive features, including several from Dion Timmer, Space Laces, and Sullivan King. Throw your X’s up and stream Apex below.
Abel’s work on this album proves that he still holds his position as the king of heavy dubstep, but he’s also branching out toward a new sound. Considering the serious hype around the album’s first single, “Gold (Stupid Love)” with Illenium, it’s no surprise that Apex is significantly more melodic than past Excision projects. One definite fan favorite is “Wake Up” with Sullivan King, the LA producer who specializes in infusing electronic music with metal. “Wake Up” features King’s emotional vocals as they seamlessly transition into powerful, melodic drops.
