YetepPhoenix’s own electronic protege has just presented an ultra cool 4-track EP, Super Phat. After dropping fire track after track this year, Ben Dorman, better known as Bijou, shows us he isn’t done producing sleek, perfected house music yet. Each track provides a different element of house music, and the four tracks together create an expertly crafted and balanced EP.
With darker bass, seductive vibes, and just a touch of funk, Bijou has formulated a house masterpiece in just four tracks. The title track, “Super Phat,” is the perfect track to get weird to, while “Do Not Disturb” has a darker feel with deep, warped vocals. “Better Than That” has a touch of synthy bass that gets really wonky at the end. “Expert” is a track extra special for Arizona: it’s a collab with another desert flower! Phoenix native Blossom shows that she and Bijou are experts when it comes to house music with a hip-hop influence.
You have TWO opportunities to hear Super Phat live; Catch Bijou at Shady Park on November 30 and at the Orpheum Theater on December 1. Don’t miss all these chances to see the EP live, you’re better than that!
