Watch it Wednesday: CloZee – ‘Evasion’
What words come to mind when you think of the hard-to-define sound of French indie-electronic producer CloZee? Funky. Tribal. Worldly. It’s hard to categorize a style that is so eclectic and so innovative, something CloZee masters beautifully. The artist just released the music video for her single, “Evasion,” which is the title track and first single off her debut album expected to be released this fall via Gravitas Recordings and Midnight Escape Records. Directed by Cedric Gleyal – Uriprod, the video follows two children who ultimately rediscover one another in young adulthood. The two are reunited through dance, set to the mesmerizing melodies and worldly sounds of the track. When the dance is finished, one of them vanishes, while the other realizes the experience was only an evasion of reality in their imagination.
The video was filmed in Southern France and CloZee selected the dancers and choreographers, Gil the Grid and Wesley Rommy, herself from the Dutch Amenti Collective, bringing a unique visual aesthetic to the video. The two put on a stunning performance, as the power of “evasion” through art is clearly illustrated.
“Evasion” is set for release this fall, allowing fans to finally experience her magic in a full body of work.
