David Guetta Reveals Alter Ego with 12-Track Mixtape

David Guetta is an electronic phenomenon. Whether he’s collaborating with other industry heavy-weights such as Sia, John Legend, or Showtek, or creating a stir with his rambunctious festival personas, people are always keeping an eye on him. He’s now back in the spotlight after revealing he’s the producer behind a new alias, Jack Back.

The reveal comes paired with a 12-track mixtape that showcases a side of Guetta his fanbase doesn’t normally see. He’s become known for commercial dance hits like “Titanium and “2u,” but Jack Back represents his underground roots. Guetta says, “I originally started in underground house music, playing all the raves and underground clubs in Paris. I wanted to make music just for fun, with absolutely no commercial approach to it. I want to make every type of music that I like, I’m doing it for the love of music.”

Now, David Guetta being Jack Back isn’t a total surprise. Suspicions have definitely been raised. First, the alias shares a name with Guetta’s record label. In addition to that, Guetta has debuted many of Jack Back’s tracks including an exclusive ID at Ultra Europe. Nonetheless, we’re excited by this new stream of music.

The Jack Back mixtape dropped just a week before David Guetta’s latest album, 7. While the album stays true to the pop-electro Guetta we all love and know, the Jack Back Mixtape features a deeper, more obscure sound.
