YetepElohim, with her delicate voice sweet as a gumdrop, is back with another single that’s just as scrumptious as her album released earlier this year. After her self-titled album release, Elohim made herself busy with appearances at impressive festivals like Bonaroo, Electric Forest, Coachella, and Red Rocks (casual for a newer artist, right?) Now that the end of her year has slowed down a bit, the talented indie electropop artist has released a perfect bop, titled “Connect.”
“Connect” will serve as Elohim’s OWSLA debut, so it only makes sense she connected with Skrillex in the studio. It doesn’t have the Skrillex sound you may be thinking of, but it does boast is masterful production skills.
Elohim’s own vocals croon, “I’m just here to connect with you,” while an irresistibly catchy melody and dreamy synths play along. The cover art released for this song follows the portrait-style trend of Elohim, this time revealing more of her face’s profile than the last. Everything that Elohim has made so far feels solidly like electropop because of its effortless catchiness and relatable lyrics; but somehow, it evades becoming predictable or overplayed like some electronic pop music. Whatever her magic, we hope Elohim continues to cast her spell.
