Virtual Riot Delivers Filthy ‘Preset Junkies’ EP

Virtual Riot‘s knack for perfectly filthy dubstep makes us want to start a riot of our own. His talents even go beyond producing and mixing bass for the gods – the German DJ, born Christian Valentin Brunn, also has several sample and preset packs for producers, as well as a Youtube account for monologues songs, and tutorials on music production. If you like what you’re hearing so far, listen to his latest EP, Preset Junkies.

Virtual Riot’s masterfully crafted EP contains five tracks – “One Two,” “Preset Junkies VIP,” “Come With Me,” and “Remedy,” both featuring Leah Culver, and “Glow in the Dark (Interlude).” A perfect example of Brunn’s honed craft is the track “Come With Me.” While his music is certainly heavy and neck-breaking, Virtual Riot is easily capable of producing music across the whole electronic spectrum, and “Come With Me” showcases this very well. Leah Culver’s futuristic voice, reminiscent of Alison Wonderland, adds a delicate element to this dub song. The bass drop is not only grimy, but also emotive and presents depth that some would argue lacks in other dubstep melodies. A little after the halfway mark of this 5:06 track, the vibe shifts to an edgy and slightly relaxed beat, another example that Virtual Riot creates more than just build-ups and drops. “Come With Me” is a breathtaking creation, but so is the rest of this EP; make sure you give it the listen it deserves!
