13 Finally Drops ‘Uppercut’ & It’s a Hitter

2019 is going to be 13‘s year. The Canadian producer and DJ has been quietly working on new music, opening for Rezz at Rebel Toronto, and has released two collabs with Rezz as well as his own EP at the beginning of last year. All of this has been building him up for an explosive career, starting with his first-ever festival appearance at Insomniac’s Beyond Wonderland this March and a single release on Mad Decent. Fans have been waiting for “Uppercut” to drop for what feels like forever. It’s been heard when Rezz drops it during her sets, during 13’s own sets, and, finally, it can be heard at your own listening pleasure.

Prepare yourself, 13 doesn’t hold back. An ominous buildup and glitchy moans that mimic the word “uppercut” lead up to heavy-hitting bass that punches you like an uppercut to the face. 13 was really keeping hold of some heat before he finally let this one out, and it was definitely worth the wait. “Uppercut” is bass perfection, finely tuned and produced with rhythm and uniqueness that deserves to be released on a big label like Mad Decent.

The rising artist recently announced his much anticipated Old World Order EP. Produced exclusively with analog synthesizers and gear including a Moog Sub 37, Behringer Model D, and bass guitar, 13’s Old World Order is set for release February 1st, 2019 via Mad Decent. A big congratulations to 13 on this release, his slot on the Beyond lineup, and all of the success that is undoubtedly in his future.
