DJ to Watch: Mersiv
The Mersiv Sound Project is the brainchild of Anderson Benoit Gallegos. Producer/DJ Anderson has been developing a unique pretty-dark-loud style of bass music since he started his musical journey in 2015. The intentions of this project are to bring people into the present moment through a Mersiv experience.
He originally started releasing music under the name BENOIT with bass splashed all over on his Bandcamp and SoundCloud. The name has changed, but the one thing that has stayed the same is his bassy ways. Mersiv is originally from Shreveport, Lousiana and these deep southern swap roots are picked up in is music. His journey to the decks started how it did for many. Back in 2012, he was captivated by the music of Deadmau5. The inspiration lingered for then he began producing original music in 2015. Since then he has released a string of successful singles that have earned recognition from some of his idols.
Anderson’s influences include Nero, Foreign Beggars, Bassnectar, Zeke Beats, The Widdler, and G Jones. His music has been described as a dark style of bass with a dreamy melodic structure. Mersiv has already played some pretty epic festivals. Lucky crowds across the world have seen him at Electric Forest, Kosmic Kingdom, and more.
