Relentless Beats

Armin van Buuren and Shapov Break Musical Boundaries with ‘La Résistance De L’Amour’

Grammy Award-nominated Dutch producer Armin van Buuren, and Shapov, the Russian producer who collaborated with Axwell on “Belong”, released the final track on their collaborative EP, Trilogy, and it’s truly a modern day symphony. “La Résistance De L’Amour” was released April 12, completing the three track EP that was announced last summer. The EP combines the skills from two of the most talented and unique artists in electronic music, something we could have only dreamed about a few years ago.

“La Résistance De L’Amour” is a journey through impressive build-ups, breathtaking melodies, and constant sound. The complexity of the track is what makes it so powerful and Shapov’s trance integrates perfectly with Armin van Buuren’s famous progressive house sound. Like the other tracks on the EP, “La Résistance De L’Amour” unfolds with each note until you find yourself listening to something completely different than how it originally started. While the song is considered “dance”, it is more complex than what would be expected from the genre and demands to be heard.

Shapov and Armin van Buuren were originally going to only collaborate on two tracks: “Our Origin” and “The Last Dancer”. After the success of the two tracks, however, Armin decided to tease an unreleased version of “La Résistance De L’Amour” at Ultra Music Festival. After seeing the tremendous support of the track, Armin and Shapov announced that they would release the track in April. Trilogy is already seeing massive success with its innovative sounds and refreshing twist on electronic music.
