YetepJust last year, Miami-based DJ/producer duo GTA released their Latin-electronic EP, La Nueva Clásica, via Mad Decent, featuring six fiery tracks that we’ve been bumping ever since. The duo finally released the music video for one of the singles from the EP, “Miénteme.” Check it out for yourself below, as this week’s Watch it Wednesday.
GTA – Miénteme (Official Music Video)
GTA said about the song, “’Miénteme’ is one of our favorite songs that we’ve ever made with tons of emotion in it and we wanted to have an amazing visual to go along, so we linked up with [director] Kevin Reyes and his team to create a unique vision of the track! We’re really excited to share this with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”
Both Julio Mejia and Matt Toth of GTA were born and raised in the cultural melting pot of Miami, Florida, and have focused many of their recent efforts in reflecting that influence with passion and pride. They have become purveyors of the “moombahton” genre, a fusion of reggaeton and electronic music, which they effortlessly combine with trap and merengue in their own eclectic style. Their La Nueva Clásica EP featured collaborations with Dominican rap star Jenn Morel and was an immediate crossover success in dance and Latin communities.
If you’d like to catch GTA in action, you’ll get two chances this May. First on May 3rd at the Van Buren in Phoenix and again on May 4th at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson.
