YetepJustin Jay has proven time and time again to be one of the most innovative, creative, and talented producers in the industry. He’s become known for his unique house sound that mixes funk, jazz, and tech roots in a nostalgic, yet forward-thinking manner. He’s spent the last few years touring, working with highly-respected peers and labels, developing his discography that currently includes 5 EPs and now 3 albums, and establishing a dedicated fanbase. His 2017 album Home saw great success and his follow-up album, Everything Will Come Together Pt. 1 is expected to see the same. The 11-track masterpiece is his first singer/songwriter album. It’s a personal yet relatable story about love, learning, and loneliness in which fans can resonate. “I spend a lot of time in my head worrying, and the spirit of Everything Will Come Together is to chill out. It doesn’t matter. Everything’s going to work out the way it’s meant to. It’s not a declarative statement. It’s me poking at myself to try and believe it. I think I’m getting better at just letting go and believing it. I think it’s working,” Justin says about the album. Check it out below.
In a vulnerable interview with Billboard, Justin Jay breaks the album down track by track. He notes inspirations like Mac DeMarco, Tame Impala, Axel Boman, The Beatles and more. He also mentions experiences on Holy Ship!, in LA, and his experiences navigating girls and dating as the basis for many of the tracks on Everything Will Come Together. He leaves the album open-ended, as his story is still in progress.
Part 2 is already in the works and we have total faith that ‘everything will come together’ as intended. You can catch Justin Jay in town THIS WEEKEND at Shady Park. Grab tickets here.
