YetepFollowing up their Techno-House Kona/Liberation EP with Alan Fitzpatrick last month, DJ/producer duo CamelPhat has teamed up again for another release, and this time it’s with English singer/songwriter Jake Bugg.
Released on RCA Records, “Be Someone” is another deep house hit from the Grammy-nominated duo. The track starts with a mid-low drone note and begins introducing percussive elements as it builds to a synth-led chorus. Bugg’s crooning vocals set the tone of the track, with well-constructed lyrics like “You’re caught up in the past / I’ll show you living fast / You’re talking but ain’t walking / I can’t help but laugh / Here to be someone / Tryna be someone.” Hit play below on “Be Someone” and see what you think.
Want to see CamelPhat perform this one live? You’ll get your chance on Friday, July 12, when they head to the Pressroom in Phoenix. Click here to purchase tickets.
