Wolfgang Gartner Officially Announces New Alias

There’s some big news coming to us from the electro-house icon Wolfgang Gartner. He has taken on an alias project under the name, Joey Youngman. But, why does that name sound so familiar?

Wolfgang Gartner has had a flooding career of success releasing some of the biggest songs, collaborating with the likes of Skrillex and K?D, and even taking a brief hiatus in 2015. The wide expanse of the complextro producer’s presence as he adapts and evolves to the shifting scene that is EDM never ceases to amaze audiences. Earlier this year, Wolfgang released “28 Grams” and “Ectoplasm” following the release of the Medicine EP late last year, maintaining his own style of elevating harmonies and rhythmic synths. Fans will follow him anywhere his projects take them allowing his music to fill their hearts. And now, it’s all coming full circle.

On July 2, 2019, Wolfgang tweeted the official announcement of returning to his house roots as Joey Youngman. The original house sound is what the versatile producer grew up on and it only makes sense to use an “alias” that grew up on it too, his real name. This remix of Bobby D’Ambrosio’s “So Thankful” is a no-nonsense, spiritual ode to something that Youngman feels passionate about. Revamping the soulful baseline with a moving energy, “So Thankful” captures the essence of that classic house sound we’ve all come to love.

A project to reflect how it all started and “purely to feed [his] soul,” we can expect it to continue to feed ours as well. While following this new project, don’t forget to catch Wolfgang Gartner alongside Morgan Page at Release Pool Party on August 3rd. Grab tickets here.
