YetepKayzo is the alias of LA-based hardstyle and trap producer Hayden Capuozzo. While recovering from his unforgettable HARD Summer production, he’s been actively promoting his upcoming sophomore album Unleashed across all social media platforms.
Over the past few weeks, he’s teased 5 singles that are also to appear on the upcoming release giving fans an inside look on just how alternative this particular collection will be.
The first track released was “Alone” featuring vocals post-hardcore band Our Last Night. Next was “Before the Storm” with vocals (and screaming) from hardcore band Blessthefall. Shortly after, Kayzo tugged our nostalgic heartstrings with an Alex Gaskarth collab titled “Up In Flames” that brought us right back to Warped Tour and that scorching hot, summer day spent sweating and swooning over bands like All Time Low. Still reminiscing, he dropped “Night Terror” which featured vocals from hardcore group Of Mice & Men followed shortly by “Cruel Love” with ShYbeast & Sum 41’s own Frank Zummo. If you haven’t heard these tracks yet, catch up here:
Kayzo’s often tested his talents, having great success across several genres like dubstep, happy hardcore, electro house even psychedelic trance. Remember his track “Wake Up” with Riot that could be considered ‘laxed when compared to most other hard-hitters yet climbed it the charts in mere minutes and received over 200,000 plays in less than 24 hours. Then, there was the incredibly upbeat 2017 Gammer and AU8UST collab “Over the Edge” where Kayzo was almost unrecognizable.
He’s always had this not so underlying affinity for rock, though. Just think back to 2015 to one of his first hardstyle/hardcore collabs “Till We Die” that featured the electronic, heavy metal god himself, Sullivan King so it’s safe to say this newest album featuring these reputable punk rock names is coming as no surprise. And we promise you it IS coming!
On August 14, additional metalcore names will make an appearance like Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire, Boys of Fall, Underoath and perhaps most notably, the album features vocals from the late We Came As Romans vocalist Kyle Pavone in a touching collab with EDM’s ARMNHMR.
Both Welcome Record’s and Kayzo’s Twitter feed have been especially active this past week ahead of the Unleashed release. Here, he’s shared the cover art, a tracklist and a pre-save link but wastes no time prepping fans for yet another collab saying “Well, @subtronics and I just made something insane.” We can’t keep up, Kayzo! But we’ll be sure to tune in on August 14 to check out the “Unleashed” product!
