Relentless Beats

Moon Boots Unveils ‘Juanita’

It’s been about a month since fans danced under the shady trees to Moon Boots’ impressive and distinctive disco-house beats for hours on end. He lit up the stage with each infectious bassline after the next, all infused with hints of jazz, funk, soul, and R&B. If you’re having just as many withdrawals as us from this unearthly house artist then you’re going to be running full speed into “Juanita.” Pete Dougherty, aka Moon Boots, just dropped the second single off his forthcoming LP, Bimini Road. Following “Tied Up,” which released just before his show here in Arizona, is “Juanita,” a joyous flood of groovy house hooks, soulful vocals by Kaleena Zanders, and retro, spacey instrumentals.

The two met at the Mixmag retreat at Allaire Studios in Woodstock, NY. Their connection was effortless that this original jam session turned into an original masterpiece. This bruising, yet smooth house track is enough to tide us over until the release of his album in September. “Juanita” is out on Anjunadeep. Listen below.

This sophomore LP is inspired by the discovered ruins of Atlantis at Bimini in the Bahamas. We are truly about to embark on an incredible journey with Moon Boots as the aura of mystery that surrounds Atlantis is sure to translate into Dougherty’s powerful beats. Mark your calendars for September 9th to welcome Moon Boots and some familiar collaborators on Bimini Road.
