YetepThe word Suara in different languages means sound, noise, voice, but to those who know the name in the scene, Suara means techno. A record label that has drastically changed the world of techno and house music around the globe is run and directed by the Spanish producer, Coyu. Suara is all about unique sound, eclectic music, and (arguably) most-importantly cats, and the man who has spearheaded its success is making his way to Shady Park.
Born Iván Ramos, this Catalan producer’s impressive and diverse portfolio is so jaw-dropping that he deserves a quick Artist Spotlight. With a huge career as a music journalist, promoter, and booking agent, Ramos truly knows his way around the scene. His multifaceted achievements continue to carry over into his music as Coyu and as label owner of Suara and Atypical Farm. Coyu represents different faces of the diverse genre in a way that manages to bring it all together under one notable name. Suara has reached #1 on both Beatport and Resident Advisor, with Coyu as “The Big Cat.”
After a slew of remixes of tracks like Fatboy Slim’s “Right Here Right Now” and X-Press 2 “Muzik Xpress,” in 2009, Coyu dropped “El Baile Alemán.” Since then, he has reigned the techno scene in Spain. During that same year, he released music alongside artists Edu and Uner, on labels like Diynamic Music and 2020Vision, and toured all over Europe. He received not only support from other DJs in the scene or fans in the audience but 6 nominations on the Dance Spanish Awards. As his career’s progressed, he’s not only been nominated, but has accepted countless national and international awards. We can go on and on about Coyu’s achievements and ability to make audiences surrender to his dynamic, pulsating sounds, but there are no bounds to Coyu’s abilities. He will continue to prove his worth as one of the top 50 all-time most charted artists on Resident Advisor and as an artist who can remarkably transform the meaning of sound.
Ramos will be bringing his world-renowned clubbing music to Shady Park on September 22nd. Don’t miss this chance to dive headfirst into an international movement of techno, and of course, cats. Grab tickets here.
