YetepCaspa is a producer whose discography goes decades back, and yet he’s never faltered. He sits like a bass noble on a throne of official remixes, studio albums, mix compilations, and plenty of collaboration work with artists like his comrade, Rusko. While Caspa certainly remains relevant for his ever-releasing new singles and for his sets on stages across the world, his older work even still draws in more new listeners. One such oldie-but-goodie is his remix of Buraka Som Sistema’s “Hangover (BaBaBa).” Listen below for this week’s Spin it Back Saturday.
This remix is a fun track, up and down. The melodies have wild energy to them, while the nonsensical vocals will find you humming and “bababa-ing” along with them. Caspa’s remix of “BaBaBa” may have ignited around eight years ago, but it’s still heating up decks and speakers even today. Zeds Dead mixed it into their very special throwback 100th episode of Deadbeats Radio, which proves it’s stayed relevant and fresh in our minds all these years. Even fun nostalgia aside, “BaBaBa” is dynamic in its sound design and flatters Caspa as a producer.
Caspa will be wobbling the walls of AURA on November 27th – don’t miss on a good show and get your tickets here.
