YetepHot Creations label owner Lee Foss has brought the heat to the underground house and techno scene, with his tracks bubbling up and garnering praise from DJ mag as “one of the most talented new forces in modern dance music today.” He’s plunged his roots into the techno scene’s collective consciousness and continues to shoot up sturdily and steadily. He’s played countless wickedly illustrious stages, most notably Burning Man. An elite example of his style is his live set at Focus in 2019, which you can listen to below for this week’s RB Deep in the Mix.
Foss’s dark, playfully seductive two-hour mix live from Commissary Lounge in Costa Mesa, California flows with soothing basslines, grooving samples, and warm acidic sounds. It’s not too contemplative to be sobering, but it still yields a hypnotic feel. The bass holds a driving viscosity, full as it oozes and broils – which Lee maintains for the entirety of his live set. It’s a weird, entrancing time for however long you listen and likely two-fold that for the audience in the moment.
Lee Foss will be melting the dance floor at Shady Park on December 20th. Get your tickets here.
