Relentless Beats

Dim Mak Releases Stacked 2019 Compilation Album

For 24 years, Steve Aoki’s record label, Dim Mak, has been providing us with the freshest beats in electronic music. Some of the biggest names in EDM such as Ghastly, Zedd, Tiesto, and Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike have been featured on Dim Mak and a plethora of up and coming producers have recently signed on to this essential label. At the beginning of every year, Dim Mak releases an album of that includes the hits of the previous year and on January 3, 2020 the 2019 edition was finally released.

Dim Mak’s Greatest Hits 2019 includes tracks from artists such as Blanke, Bear Grillz, Riot Ten, Luca Lush, and more. The 22 track compilation has plenty of genres to choose and seamlessly transitions from bass house, to rap, to melodic dubstep. On the more bass house side of Dim Mak, “Swag” by BROHUG and “True G” featuring BRUX by Matroda are perfect tracks that are sure to get everyone on their feet. Dim Mak is known for its contribution to bass house and 2019 was a particularly good year for this dynamic subgenre. Dim Mak’s Greatest Hits also includes rap with tracks like “Body Bag” by Ricky Remedy, Smokerpurpp, and Zay27 and “Berserk” featuring Yung Bambi by QUIX and Luca Lush. Rap/ electronic hybrid track dominated the scene in 2019 and they are especially impressive as the producers have effortlessly combined elements of electronic music with elements of rap. The dubstep and heavy bass tracks included on Dim Mak’s Greatest Hits 2019 range from midtempo-inspired bass like “Hellraiser” by Blanke and Godlands to melodic dubstep like “Stay” featuring Micah Martin by Bear Grillz. The various kinds of heavy bass on the compilation really show the musical diversity represented on Dim Mak and I highly recommend listening to “Relate” by Tisoki and Watgood if you enjoy your bass extra heavy.
