YetepThe hardest working man in EDM, the one and only Steve Aoki, recently dropped another hot track from his upcoming album Neon Future IV in the form of “Maldad.” Working with Latin Urban pop sensation Maluma, the track is an international blend of sound paired with a compelling video directed by Roxana Daldovin.
From the first note to Maluma’s sexy and enticing vocals it’s impossible not to feel your body pulled to each sway and dip of the song. “Maldad” has a taste of both dark and sweet, bridging the genres of Reggaeton, House, and Middle Eastern rhythms all with electronic music at its core. And we can’t neglect the piping flute that keeps us on our toes as the sultry vocals transform every atmosphere into seeping, warm dance. Out now on Ultra Records, listen and get hypnotized below.

Steve Aoki’s work on Neon Future IV is truly one for the books. His memoir, Blue: The Color of Noise, came out in September 2019 which inspired the Neon Future IV: The Color of Noise tour. But what’s really remarkable is the accompanying comic book series that follows the carefully crafted story Aoki developed for this entire production.
In a Rolling Stone interview, Aoki said of the series, “It’s set 30 years into the future when jobs are all automated and there’s a war,” Aoki says. “There’s a sect of people who are becoming augmented — they’re fusing with technology, and the government is trying to stop it. It’s already happening now. The augmented people are a group of rebels called the Neon Future.”
Kicking off on March 5th and ending April 24th, we are itching for the release of the full production. On the album we can expect to hear collabs with Darren Criss, the Backstreet Boys, Sting, of course, Maluma, and more. Years in the making, the album and tour are about to take over North America as a whole. Jimmy Trumpet and Global Dan will be alongside Steve Aoki on the tour, while Deorro, Riot Ten, ARMNHMR, QUIX, Godlands, and Max Styler will premier at select shows.
Join the band of rebels for a Neon Future at El Rey Theater in Albuquerque on April 6th and Rialto in Tucson on April 7th.
