Explore New Heights With Liquid Stranger’s ‘ASCENSION’ EP

It was a long year without new tracks from the WAKAAN label boss Liquid Stranger, but just a year after his INFINITY LP dropped, he is back with the ASCENSION EP and we are loving it! Full of trendsetting bass and collaborations ASCENSION is well worth the wait. Liquid Stranger, born Martin Stääf, made sure to incorporate all kinds of out-of-this-world noises within this 6 track EP, including some wobbly dubstep, ambient downtempo, and even a dash of drum and bass. Give ASCENSION a listen below and get a glimpse of what Liquid Stranger has in store for 2020.

Kicking things off with “Psychonaut,” Martin takes listeners on a whirlwind of a journey, taking “the trip into the unknown, in order to know themselves,” consisting of powerful energy and glitchy, weird bass. Next, “Ascend” really showcases Liquid Stranger’s undeniable talent; the track floats effortlessly between featherlike melodies and electrifying build-ups. The first collab on the EP is “The Hammer” with LUZCID and it is explosive. The bass oozes from the track and proves WAKAAN artists can do no wrong. “Laser Burn” with Hydraulix is up next and will without a doubt have you moving! The highly anticipated Liquid Stranger and LSDREAM collab, “Sunken Technology,” follows and is full of video game-like vocal chops, blips of sound, and lots of weird wubs. Last, but certainly not least, is the downtempo outro “Over n Out,” which is a personal favorite. This track again highlights Liquid Stranger’s versatility and skill in creating bass music of all kinds and gives us a sneak peek at what his upcoming downtempo label, SSKWAN, will have to offer. ASCENSION is a beautiful journey from start to finish and we cannot wait to see what Martin has ahead this year. Be sure to grab tickets to catch Liquid Stranger’s ASCENSION Tour, along with INZO, Hydraulix, and Dirt Monkey, in Flagstaff, at the Orpheum Theater, on March 4th before they’re gone!
