YetepDubstep wouldn’t be where it is today without Rusko. The British producer helped pioneer the sub-genre in the UK back in the 2000’s, along with fellow DJ/producer Caspa with their dubstep-dedicated mix for London nightclub Fabric’s compilation series, Fabriclive. On that mix was Rusko’s “Cockney Thug,” introducing the bass “wobble” that his since blown up in the scene today. This moment was so iconic that the Guardian UK called it one of the 50 key events in dance music history.
Shortly after, Rusko began releasing a slew of singles and EPs, and remixed tracks by artists like Kid Cudi, Lady Gaga, and Kid Sister. He also helped produce M.I.A’s third album, “Maya.” in 2010, Rusko’s single “Da Cali Anthem” became the first dubstep tune to be listed on US radio and his first full-length album, “O.M.G.!” was released via Mad Decent/Downtown.
