5 Hype-Inducing AC Slater Tracks

When it comes to bass house, the first name that comes to mind is AC Slater. The LA-based DJ/producer has made a name for himself in this realm, especially since the launch of his own label, Night Bass, which has been home to some of the most groundbreaking and forward-thinking bass-heavy dance music in the underground.

AC Slater has been active in the scene for over a decade, and as a result, has an impressive discography to sift through. As we gear up for his upcoming show at Sunbar in Tempe on July 16th, let’s recap some of our favorite AC Slater songs to get you in full hype mode.

1. “Bass Inside”

Released via OWSLA in 2016, “Bass Inside” remains AC Slater’s arguably most well-known song. A quintessential bass house banger, it’s impossible not to groove to this one.

2. “Fly Kicks” with Chris Lorenzo

A literal classic in AC Slater’s discography, “Fly Kicks” was propelled even more into fame when fellow Night Bass producer Wax Motif’s remix hit the scene in 2017.

3. “Feeling Awake”

Off his 2019 Hi8 album, “Feeling Awake” is probably my favorite AC Slater song to date. He lays off the bass a bit in this one, giving us more of a vibey house track to groove to.

4. “Dope Slinger” with Chris Lorenzo

Another Chris Lorenzo collab, “Dope Slinger” is a bass house masterpiece that appeared on Slater’s 2017 album, Outsiders.

5. “Ass Drop” ft. Dell Harris

We couldn’t close out this list without paying homage to AC Slater’s early days. “Ass Drop” is a wonky, heavy bass-driven track from the producer’s 2012 EP Party Animals. AC Slater’s style has since transitioned, but the energy and dedication to that bass sound have stood true.

Now that you’re properly hyped, mark your calendars for AC Slater at Sunbar Friday, July 16th. Grab those tickets here!
