Watch Claptone’s ‘Wake Up’ Music Video

The mysterious beak-clad DJ and producer Claptone recently dropped a house and garage inspired track titled “Wake Up” featuring vocalist James Vincent McMorrow. Claptone referred to the song himself as a “a piece of vintage 90s pop house [that] evokes moments of happiness and melancholia at the same time.”

To top it off, he also released an accompanying music video directed by Keith Musil, depicting “the true story of a man who was struck by lighting seven times.” Check it out below!

“Wake Up” will appear on Claptone’s forthcoming album, Closer, a project in the making for over three years. His third studio album, Closer showcases a unique development in sound for the producer, as it features a string of collaborators and pop icons including Barry Manilow, Seal, Peter Bjorn & John, Mayer Hawthorne, and many more.

The album is co-produced by Stuart Price, a three-time Grammy-winning electronic musician, DJ, songwriter, and record producer known for his work with artists such as The Killers, Dua Lipa and Pet Shop Boys.

Closer is currently set to release on November 12th via Different Recordings. In the meantime, catch Claptone at Sunbar on Sunday, October 3rd. You can purchase tickets here.
