YetepAfter nearly a decade on the air, one of the most iconic radio shows in the dance industry is coming to a bittersweet end. On September 4th, Diplo broadcasted the final show of his weekly series Diplo and Friends on BBC Radio 1. Featuring an endless number of legendary guest mixes, many of which cast emerging artists into the spotlight, we are understandably saddened to see it end.
Fellow DJ Jauz said, “My Diplo & friends mix on BBC was one of the very first things I got to do that really started to put me on people’s radars. I’m not sure if a lot of what happened in my career would have without that opportunity. Thanks to Wes and BBCR1 for championing so many new artists.” He is not alone in these sentiments. Listen to the final Diplo and Friends here.
Today marks last airing of Diplo & Friends 📡 Thank you for tuning in for the last decade of iconic mixes.
Thank you @BBCR1 @1Xtra Tune in at 3 PM PT for @Avicii’s epic mix and @diplo favorites over the years 🥲https://t.co/ENFJkjQN9s pic.twitter.com/VQSCfyr0RK— Mad Decent (@maddecent) September 4, 2021
Saturday nights from 11 PM to 1 AM will feel a little different, but we’re looking forward to Diplo’s next big project!
