YetepSince its debut, John Summit‘s festival anthem “Where You Are” immediately established itself as one of this year’s hottest hits. We’ve seen John Summit use this track to absolutely hypnotize and dominate stages all across the globe. Now, we’re getting to see other artists give it a try, with GRiZ formally being the first. In this week’s Remix Recall, we’re checking out GRiZ’s remix of John Summit’s “Where You Are” featuring UK singer-songwriter Hayla. Check it out below:
GRiZ flips “Where You Are” by giving it a hefty dose of his distinctive wonky sound. Without sacrificing Hayla’s ethereal vocals or the arms-wide-open vibe provided in the original, GRiZ finds a way to turn this track into a beautiful bass masterpiece with a heavy yet melodic drop.
Of the release, John Summit shared the following on social media:
“This record has reached heights I didn’t even know was possible.. and after hearing artists from across all genres give their take on it we decided to start releasing them kickin’ off with the massive GRiZ remix.”
GRiZ and John Summit are two of the biggest and best EDM artists that we’ve gotten to see achieve major success in these past couple of years. Whether it be a new release, a new merch drop, or entirely curating their own events, both continue to pay tremendous attention to detail and constantly ensure that their fans are taken care of. They both have created a safe space within their music and each carries a vibe that is purely made of love.
After sharing this release, GRiZ announced via Twitter that he will be taking an indefinite hiatus from touring starting this Fall. While GRiZ will be putting more focus on quality time with his friends and family, he will still be working on music. Luckily, GRiZ just announced that before he takes hiatus he has one major surprise left for us in Arizona!
We are so excited to share that GRiZ will be hosting Ursa Major, a three-night cosmic camping experience, under the stars in Flagstaff, Arizona on September 22-24th! Alongside GRiZ will be friends like Inzo, Daily Bread, Justin Jay, Of The Trees, and many more. Get more information about the event and grab your passes here!
