BIJOU and No/Me have teamed up to release “Chit Chat,” a bass house masterpiece that will lead into BIJOU’s upcoming Lights Out EP. If you’re not familiar, BIJOU is a house producer from Phoenix, AZ who’s been consistently releasing since 2014. No/Me is an LA-based artist with an Indie Pop background who recently found her voice resonating well with house music fans. She is the same vocalist you hear on “Push To Start” by Westend and Noizu.
There’s a strong chemistry between the two on this track. BIJOU’s gritty basslines and high-energy drum patterns matched with No/Me’s distinctive vocals are a real treat for modern-day house music fans. We caught up with BIJOU and No/Me to get their perspective on how the song came about.
“As a producer, records always come together much easier when you’re a fan of the vocalist you’re working with. In this case that’s exactly how things went. I’m a huge fan of No/Me and her music and reached out on Instagram to show my appreciation and ask if she wanted to work together. She was equally es excited and as soon as I heard the vocals for Chit Chat I went straight to the studio and smashed the song out in just a few short days.”

To any producers out there, be sure to make music with artists you love and not just focus on the numbers. Also, don’t be afraid to reach out in IG DM’s because you never know what can happen. Lastly, let the production come naturally. If the track comes together quickly, that could be a very good sign.
“To be honest, I’ve been quite shy since the Covid era, but something strange happened one night at my friends’ Aviv and Hen’s home studio. Per usual, they played me an insane beat they made, handed me the microphone, I closed my eyes and started freestyling. But this time, a dirty British alter ego came pouring out of me. When I opened my eyes, Aviv’s jaw dropped, and ‘Chit Chat,’ was born. A couple months later, I got a random dm from BIJOU asking if I want to collaborate. I listened to his music, loved it, so I sent him a few unreleased songs. He immediately picked ‘Chit Chat’ and when I heard his production, I knew we had to release it. It’s been amazing watching his audience respond to the ID at clubs, Red Rocks, and I’m so excited for the song to finally be out.”

I think we can all understand the COVID shyness to some extent. These past few years have changed a lot about how we listen to music, how that same music is produced, as well as how people connect in general. If you’d like to hear “Chit Chat” live, catch BIJOU at The Van Buren in Phoenix on Friday, Feb 2nd, 2024. He’ll also be playing his upcoming Lights Out EP. You can find tickets here.
