Relentless Beats

Chris Lake & Sammy Virji Cure Our ‘Summertime Blues’ With Euphoric Dance Anthem

The wait is over, and our soundtrack to Summer 2024 has finally arrived! Chris Lake and Sammy Virji have just released their massive collaboration, “Summertime Blues,” featuring vocalist Nathan Nicholson. “Summertime Blues” is out now via Chris Lake’s Black Book Records.

In under five minutes, house music legend Chris Lake and Sammy Virji—who is leading the UK garage movement in the U.S.—have healed our “Summertime Blues.” Nathan Nicholson of The Boxer Rebellion pens blissful words of introspection next to the shimmering synths of Chris Lake and Sammy Virji’s euphoric production. Nicholson’s reflective lyrics, “Memories are useless; I’ve got to let ’em go,” bring the track to life. The booming bassline of the verse demonstrates the surprising yet satisfying fusion of Lake’s tech-house inspirations with Virji’s upbeat UK garage key change, resulting in a paradoxical blend of enticing grooves. “Summertime Blues” is officially a certified banger!

Of the release, Chris Lake shared:

“I’m so happy I got to work on this track with Sammy and Nathan. I’ve loved their music and vibes for a while. I’m super proud of how ‘Summertime Blues’ turned out. We wanted a drop that felt like the warmth of sunshine and that’s how it makes me feel.”

Virji adds:

“Really excited to get ‘Summertime Blues’ out there, was great to work with Chris and Nathan on the single – so gassed for everyone to hear how it turned out.”

Chris Lake is headed back to Arizona this Independence Day Weekend! Witness the house music icon on July 7th at Maya Dayclub in Scottsdale, AZ. Get more info and grab your tickets here.
