Louis the Child’s Musical Journey: A Tale of Old vs New

Louis the Child has cemented their status as true EDM headliners, and it’s easy to see why. Arguably among the best producers in the game, they consistently produce out high-quality music while continuously pushing the boundaries of their sound. Every release bears the unmistakable Louis the Child stamp, yet their range spans across genres, with some tracks seamlessly transitioning between styles. It’s evident that Louis the Child is deeply passionate about music production, and each new release is met with excitement!

Let’s delve into their musical evolution, which I divided into “Old School vs. New School” phases.

Old School Louis the Child

Louis the Child captured hearts early on with their distinct musical style. Their early works feature future trap synths prominently, using them to craft melodic landscapes. Complemented by serene yet catchy lyrics, their music exudes a pop vibe that appeals to casual listeners. Tracks like “It’s Strange” and “Better Not” hold a special place in many fans’ hearts. Their Candy album epitomizes this synth-heavy future trap style, showcasing their signature sound seamlessly.  This is perfect music to listen to while driving or watching a sunset, as it seemingly perfectly captures what it is like to see the sun setting.

New School Louis the Child

What sets Louis the Child apart is their constant innovation. While staying true to themselves, they fearlessly explore different genres, always delivering hits thanks to their exceptional production skills. Recently, they’ve been leaning into house music, with standout tracks like “Keep on Moving” and “Blow the Roof.” Their album Black Marble marked a significant departure from their pop-centric sound, yet it was met with widespread positivity due to its impeccable production. The house focus can really be heard in the To Believe EP, with each track delivering nothing short of bangers.

Louis the Child have shown no signs of slowing down, and it speaks volumes to their intrinsic passion for music. While I hope they make music forever, if you have the chance to see them live, take it!
