Remix Recall: Best of TroyBoi

T-R-O-Y-B-O-I. One of the industry’s leading producers, TroyBoi is the creative force behind some of our all-time favorite remixes. His commitment to pushing the envelope in all areas of his artistic endeavors has resulted in a constant transformation of his signature sound of bass and trap. Before TroyBoi takes the stage this weekend at the Phoenix Raceway, here are five of my favorite TroyBoi remixes for this week’s Remix Recall!

“MyBoi” – Billie Eilish (TroyBoi Remix)

This remix is classic TroyBoi in all its glory. “MyBoi” garnered over 80 million streams on Spotify after its release in 2018. TroyBoi uses his signature sound to chop Billie’s vocals for the chorus and accompanies them with a complex layer of bass, hi-hats, and hard kicks. One of the best renditions and showcases of how TroyBoi can take any genre, any track, and flip it into his own. 

“Falls” – ODESZA ft. Sasha Alex Sloan (TroyBoi Remix)

Another iconic remix, TroyBoi takes ODESZA’s “Falls” and flips it completely upside down into something unexpected. The vocals stay true to ODESZA’s calm nature, but the drop brings in a touch of trap, creating a mind-bending bass remix. 

“Wait A Minute” – Party Favor, A$AP Ferg, Juicy J (TroyBoi Remix)

The ultimate party starter. TroyBoi brings the bounce to “Wait A Minute” within seconds. TroyBoi adds his customary snappy rolling percussion and gritty trap with his signature funky synthesizers.

“Unholy” – Sam Smith ft. Kim Petras (TroyBoi Trap Remix)

A bouncy, majestic banger. Troyboi’s minimalist trap production will never get old. His careful selection of samples and seamless grooves are crucial elements that help him create such recognizable hits. 

“Like I Would” – ZAYN (TroyBoi Trap Remix)

Underrated. TroyBoi takes ZAYN to a new realm full of fire. This rendition amplifies the original track and highlights all the best parts. It’s safe to say if you see TroyBoi in the track title, it’s going to be spicy.
