OKAYVAL Blesses Us With Second June Release, ‘You Don’t Want This’
OKAYVAL SUMMER IS IN FULL EFFECT!
Jacksonville-based House/Tech-House producer OKAYVAL has been working very hard this year. She has increased her social media following, earned accolades/industry cosigns, and performed internationally in Canada. Her energetic instagram and Tik-Tok posts introduce viewers to her music and personality. She remembers her fans and is very grateful for their support.
OKAYVAL dropped “Basslevel” two weeks ago and is back with her second June release, “You Don’t Want This,” an energetic Tech-House bop with a rap verse sprinkled in for good measure. The track begins with crystalline effects and rhythmic vocal samples, and steady drums. The vocals bend with the beat, counting us down to a groovy drop. We are greeted by as full wall of sound, as the splashy House Hi-Hats create a pleasant head-bobbing sensation. Occasional car alarm effects can be heard in the background. Alerting us that it is time to PARTY! OKAYVAL even includes elements Tropical House in “You Don’t Want This.” Showing her versatility as an artist. A techno drum beat accompanies the previously mentioned rap verse that discusses catching “Ops” off guard, “Big dreams,” and “Never going broke.” The techno drums transform into Hi-Hats while the flow continues to plan a sneak attack. “You Don’t Want This” loops back to the initial drop, before concluding with an epic breakdown. This breakdown blends several elements, while bringing some well-timed scratches into the mix. Another excellent release! I cannot wait to see what OKAYVAL has in store for us in the future.
