YetepWakyin is DJ and producer who has been on the rise recently with the success of his track “Beso (Fruta Fresca)” with vocalist and songwriter Carlos Vives. The track has been supported by some of the industry’s biggest names including MoBlack, ACRAZE, Oliver Heldens, Tiësto, and the list goes on. Wakyin attributes his music influence to his Latin American background, which brings a unique and sophisticated touch to his productions. His ability to fuse different genres into a cohesive and genre-bending sound has earned him a dedicated following and cemented his reputation in the industry. His most recent collaboration with Bantu gives me a strong feeling he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
“Closer” is an afro house track produced by Wakyin and sung by Zimbabwe’s singer/songwriter Bantu. According to Bantu himself, “this one sounds like you just clocked out of work and caught the first flight to an island you can’t pronounce”. Sounds like a good time, right? The track is released through Insomniac Records and has amassed over 150K streams on Spotify in just two weeks. I personally can’t stop playing this track, everything about it sticks for me. I’m patiently waiting for Super Unnatural to come so I can finally see an afro house set from Wakyin. If you haven’t already, grab your tickets here.
