YetepOMNOM and Marco Strous have teamed up for an absolute weapon of a track. “Everyone’s Your Friend” hits that dark tech house vibe that we’re used to hearing from OMNOM, but also has elements of bass house on the drop. What stands out most about this track are the eerie lyrics, “Everyone’s your friend, until the party ends,” which is something that many DJs can probably relate to. No wonder it’s received play from Oliver Heldens, AFROJACK, itsmurph, Tchami, Martin Garrix, and many more. Not only does it resonate with DJs, audience reactions to the track have been massive. If you haven’t heard it yet, take a listen to hear what I mean.
OMNOM had one of his first big breaks with “Losing Control,” co-produced by Odd Mob and released on John Summit‘s label Experts Only. He has been consistently releasing heaters ever since including tracks such as “All Day, All Night” (also with Odd Mob), “By Myself” (with XKYLAR), and now “Everyone’s Your Friend” (with Marco Strous). While his DJ sets haven’t quite gained traction yet, there are a few notable ones on YouTube that are worth checking out. He has been supported by some of the world’s top DJs and, if he continues with this momentum, I wouldn’t be surprised if he joins the list of top DJs himself.
As for Marco Strous, he has mainly been seen releasing with Chris Lake’s label Black Book Records, which already speaks to the level of credibility his productions have. Based in Bristol, he speaks to the continued talent that seems to spark from the UK scene. He is still a relatively undiscovered artist, and a track with OMNOM is definitely a good look for him right now. This collab is one of my favorites to come out recently, so I’ll be keeping an eye on both Marco Strous and OMNOM.
