YetepIn this edition of the dubstep dive, I wanted to highlight what I believe will be the release of the year. VOYD Vol. 2.5, which was released over the last three weeks in three parts, is one of the most outstanding albums to come out in a long time. It contains a broad collection of new original VOYD songs in addition to the numerous remixes from some of the best and brightest in the underground riddim scene.
I created a tier list of the album’s tracks, based on my personal preference, and just some of the songs that I liked off of the albums. Each of the artists included in the project have immense talent and it was incredibly challenging to try to put these into a list, because each remix offers something so unique. There are many different genres, styles, and adaptations that make every song well worth the listen. Read below for my ranking of VOYD Vol. 2.5.
The highest tier is reserved for my current favorite songs. I did not know that we were going to get all of these amazing releases on the album which are mostly remixes but these two songs are in a tough battle for my all time fav. My S+ tier songs are:
Right after S+ comes just your normal S tier songs. These were some of my absolute favorites from his live sets and are some of the IDs that he has been playing out for years. It feels amazing to finally have a name to some of the songs that are so cherished in my memory.
After the S tier, these tunes are some of the ones that stood out on the album for their uniqueness and oftentimes, their interpretation of the original. These remixes are a great example of how to properly remix a song into something new.
B Tier for me represents tunes that I would absolutely love to listen to live. These are the songs that I would jump into a moshpit for and go crazy. There is really no going wrong with any of these.
It is hard to call these songs C tier songs because in any other album or even independently ranked these would be much differently rated. These are some completely unique and new remixes, some in genres that don’t hit as hard as dubstep. That is not to say that I do not also absolutely love these songs. Each and every one of these artists deserves to be included in the album that is going to be dubstep album of the year, maybe one of the best dubstep releases of all time, only time will tell.

As a final note, make sure that you take a listen to all three of these albums. They are an insane and wild experience that will get your body moving. I cannot wait to see what is to come next from Svdden Death and VOYD. In the meantime, don’t miss Svdden Death’s Forsaken Sands show at Wild Horse Pass Festival Grounds on October 4th. This is going to be an epic night you won’t want to miss. Grab your tickets here!
