Bella Renee
YetepAustralian bass music champion NEOTEK and local Phoenix legend Bella Renee teamed up to drop their highly anticipated single, “Disaster” earlier this month. “Disaster” was released through Excision’s own SUBSIDIA record label. This bop features Bella Renee’s signature vocals and delivery, with lyrics to match. The lyrics are dark, reflective, and hopeful all at once. Capturing a wide range of emotions to make this a versatile listen. Notable lines include:
“Cut out my pretty heart, put it up on a platter. Gave you my time, ended up a disaster. Are you shattered? Doesn’t matter. Keep your head up when your deep in disaster”
NEOTEK’s choppy bass waves and heavy drums immediately slice through the vocals in this first drop. These bass waves are spliced with pleasant synth notes and flow into the next verse. The beat takes a brief step back, letting Bella Renee’s take center stage. Lyrics like;
“Wonder why I still see the good in you, every time you hurt me and leave me bruised” are perfectly captured by the anguish in the beat and Bella Renee’s vocals. The subtle beat dances along with Bella’s memories of love since passed. NEOTEK really knows how to balance his signature heaviness with gorgeous, emotional instrumentals. Never overshadowing Bella Renee’s vocals. He can capture all vibes and moods with his versatile production style. His production on the second drop is even heavier than the first, while slowing down the tempo a bit. Creating an irresistible head bob in the listener as the bass tides pull in and out. “Disaster” ends with emotional harmonies and a quiet fade out.
“I knew as soon as we made this song that it was something special, I feel as though it’s the perfect blend between emotion and bass music so I’m super excited to finally be putting it out.”
-NEOTEK
-Bella Renee“The inspiration behind the song was a catalyst moment in my life, dealing with feelings of wanting to give up and transmuting it into a song where you can feel that rage turned into something else.”
