YetepDeep dubstep alchemists Truth have once again emerged from the shadows, fresh from the studio and armed with a new spellbook of low-end weaponry. Universally respected as architects of the deep, dark & heavy sound, the duo didn’t earn that crown by accident. They earned it by carving out entire sonic worlds with heavy bass. Their latest offering, the Portals EP, is exactly that, a full-on interdimensional step into their universe of alien bass pressure and cinematic weight.
Opening with a chest-rattling dose of bass on new single, “Alien bass,” Portals wastes zero time pulling listeners through the veil. Sub frequencies hit like tectonic shifts. Every movement feels like you’re being guided through a new level of bass. And the further you get through the EP, the stranger and heavier the bass gets.
Never ones to settle, Truth spends the rest of the EP pushing the boundaries of how deep deep dubstep can really go. From shadowy melodies and whispered vocals to those unmistakably crisp Truth snares, the duo packed the project with the kind of detail and sound design they are known for. It’s a release built for the bass heads, the systems, and anyone ready to step through a portal into something darker.
