YetepAustralian bass music star SIPPY is known for her big wubs and innovative marketing strategies. Her fans are affectionally known as “Gremlins” and her rabbit avatar is as iconic as her bass drops. Her DJ name is versatile and makes for some epic puns and song titles. SIPPY has toured extensively and continues to expand her audience and fan reach. Her consistent, quality releases always grab my attention when they are posted. This time, SIPPY is back at it again with a heater titled, “Big Sip”. The single’s cover art features a decked out SIPPY with a boombox, while a rabbit spray paints “Big Sip” on the wall.
“Big Sip” starts out with thick, bouncy basslines and reverberating womps, with a hip-hop edge. A woman can be heard singing confident verses with lines like: “Now I’m looking cute, so hot, so pretty, but when that bass drop Yeah I know it must be SIPPY!” The rumbling beat continues, effortlessly swaying with the verses. A gradual transition welcomes in the first drop.
This drop features shuffling waves, sky-high bass wubs, and a subtle undercurrent of lasers. Digital snows rains down before bringing us to the next verse. The verse quickly repeats before flowing into the next drop. Crisp, crystalline synths add a touch of melody before the drop is unleashed. This drop is chunkier and a little slower than the last drop, without losing its edge. Layers of sharp drum effects give this drop a rhythmic foundation. The lumbering bass sways back and forth, rumbling the earth as it moves. “Big Sip” fades out with claps, hi-hats and a few straggling bass waves.
“Big Sip” is another effective addition to the bunny-oriented artist’s discography. It shows off her technical production skills and eye for detail. This track is suitable for newcomers and veteran SIPPY fans a like. Helping the artist expand her international domain.
