AHEE x SubDocta Drop SPEAKER-BREAKING Banger, ‘FIYAH’

AHEE and SubDocta are two impressive artists with their own distinct styles. SubDocta specializes in old-school dubstep sounds with classic video game aesthetics and dark, moody production. AHEE leans more into the psychedelic/cerebral side of things. These artist’s styles effectively clash in the absolute BANGER of a release, “Fiyah.”

“FIYAH” opens like an outer space lullaby with glistening galaxy dust and progressively galloping sound waves. A sweeping transition sputters out, teasing the first drop with an uptempo section and sharp bass spirals. BWAMP effects add to the suspense built for the first drop. This drop features modern wubs built upon a classic reggae/dub influenced foundation. Frequencies expand and contract with the rolling basslines. The second part of this drop is absolutely BONKERS, with speaker breaking wubs.

“GOD I LOVE THAT F**KING SONG, MAN!!”

The song briefly returns to the melodic intro and builds hype for another drop. On this drop, the frequencies and tempo shift to a low-ended, HEAVY bass sound. Thick wubs bounce off of a solid drumbeat as they track (pleasantly) spirals out of control. Lasers and fuzzy bass fire off in all directions, joined by a subtle rapping sample. Ending things on a truly epic note.

This is a VERY IMPRESSIVE collaboration between two standout artists in the bass music scene. A perfect blend of veteran and rising star sound design. Build off of each other and complimenting each other’s craft. This track is an undeniable banger and one of my FAVORITE releases of the year. I hope you enjoy the hell out of it!
