Dreya V Joins MEDUZA for Aeterna Radio 011

An increasingly hot and recurring name in the Tech House Scene, Dreya V, recently joined MEDUZA on Aeterna Radio for Episode 011 of the series. Leaving nothing to be desired with this mix, she complements the Aeterna Records label sound quite naturally. Aeterna Radio is a music show hosted by MEDUZA featuring the latest and upcoming Aeterna Records releases while showcasing artists on the label and others in the electronic music scene. The first episode was released close to a year ago with HILLS, while others have been released on roughly a monthly cadence. It’s a fun series featuring a diverse array of artists with some of my favorite mixes released in the past year.

Dreya V kicks off episode 011 with Rockwell’s “Somebody’s Watching Me (Luch Remix).” It’s an uplifting start to the mix with a vibey groove that eases into a slow-paced funky drum beat, transitioning into Nick Curly & Joëlla Jackson’s “Attention.” This song has an energetic feel that is true to the chorus, “Gonna make you feel, feel good!” It’s a feel-good beat that’s simple but keeps you moving. The funky drum beat that has been present up to this point speeds up and turns into a more jungly house beat that intros Trace’s “Good Time.” Dreya V flows in and out of this “jungle beat” until things begin to heat up with a piano house chord progression into Will Clarke’s “WHAT?”. It’s an airy flow from there with Hot Since 82 ft. Kuuda’s “Forever” gradually ascending and losing the melody as the bassline and heavenly vocals mix into Shiba San’s “Keep It Burning.” The groove keeps rocking and morphs into a hard tech house groove with the heavy hitting kick drums in Benny Benassi & Tobias Gerard’s “DISCOTEKA.”

There’s a momentary break in the intensity just before slipping into the recent Aeterna Records release, Genesi’s “Drillo.” This song launches you right back into the heavy beat characterized by the high energy kick drums and tribal percussion patterns. Welker’s “Ice In My Eye” keeps the pace next as we’re then officially welcomed by Dreya V herself to the MEDUZA Aeterna Radio Show with her latest single, “Money.” The track is characterized by a hypnotic synth line that’s complimented perfectly by the vocals and vibrating bassline. Just before the final drop you hear a pitched-up synth riser creating an auditory illusion that sounds like a rocket engine. It’s arguably her best work to date and offers a glimpse into an exciting tech house-driven future. Mishell’s “Desire” does a nice job of matching the bossy vibe of “Money” rolling right into Sian & Pôngo’s “Zombie.” The mix nears the end with the fast-paced rhythm and vocals of Matt & Juan Brizuela’s “No Wheebacks” finalizing with Dreya V’s “Up Front.” It’s the perfect song to conclude the high energy experience with its rapid-fire percussion and vocals from none other than herself.

Dreya V, formerly known as MISS DRE, embodies a strong club energy with a hypnotic feel. Her sound draws influence from a variety of genres blurring the line between house and melodic techno. The Bay Area DJ and Producer shows no signs of slowing down this year having recently played Club Space (Miami), Factory Town (Miami), The Midway (San Francisco), Sprung (Washington, DC), and The Shop (Seattle). She has also announced appearances in Ibiza this summer opening for the likes of legends John Summit and Our House (MEDUZA & James Hype).

Dreya V will also be joining the Experts Only Festival on Randall’s Island in New York City, September 19-20th. Partnered with Relentless Beats, Medium Rare, and East Meets West this is one you don’t want to miss. Buy your tickets HERE.
