Alix Perez has spent nearly two decades shaping the deeper, more technical side of drum and bass. From his early releases on Shogun Audio to boundary pushing projects like Shades with EPROM, Perez has built a catalog that moves between liquid, halftime, dubstep, and experimental bass without losing its distinct identity. His label, 1985 Music, has become an influential home for forward-thinking bass artists while giving Perez a platform to release music outside conventional genre expectations. Founded in 2016, 1985 Music has grown from its drum and bass roots into a broader underground ecosystem centered on detailed sound design, atmosphere, and left-field production.

Perez’s newest release, “Reminisce,” showcases the lighter and more ethereal side of the drum and bass sound which he has been leaning into.
